Get ready to witness some incredible athletic talent right in Calgary! From August 8 to 10, around 1,000 of Canada's top young track and field athletes will showcase their skills at the Foothills Athletic Park. This exciting event is more than just a competition; it's an opportunity for these young stars to shine and compete against the best in the nation.

Thanks to a generous $30,000 funding boost from Alberta's government through the Major Sport Event grant program, this championship is set to be a spectacular showcase of athleticism. It's expected to bring in a whopping $2.8 million for Calgary's economy as friends and family come to cheer on their favorite athletes.

As the only national championship for U16 and U18 athletes in Canada, the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships will feature over 300 athletes from Alberta, along with more than 2,000 visitors. It's a unique chance for these youth athletes to break their personal records and build lasting memories.

Among the standout athletes to watch, there’s Jack Rajakaruna, ranked first in hammer throw, and the record-breaking Adam Nyarko from Calgary! This championship is about more than just trophies; it's about building confidence and community through the power of sport. So let’s get hyped and support our future leaders!
