From August 8 to 10, around 1,000 of Canada's top young track and field athletes will showcase their skills at the Foothills Athletic Park. Thanks to a generous $30,000 funding boost from Alberta's government through the Major Sport Event grant program, this championship is set to be a spectacular showcase of athleticism. It's expected to bring in a whopping $2.8 million for Calgary's economy as friends and family come to cheer on their favorite athletes.
As the only national championship for U16 and U18 athletes in Canada, the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships will feature over 300 athletes from Alberta, along with more than 2,000 visitors.
