Deputy Premier Jim Reiter emphasizes that with Saskatchewan's booming economy, educating our youth about safety is crucial for creating safer workplaces for everyone. By educating our young workers, we’re building a safer and healthier culture for the future.
Did you know that the minimum working age in Saskatchewan is 16? However, teens aged 14 and 15 can also work under certain conditions, as long as they complete the Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course (YWRCC) and have parental consent. This course is designed to prepare young workers for the job market with essential health and safety information.
The YWRCC is overseen by WorkSafe Saskatchewan, a partnership dedicated to reducing workplace injuries. To learn more about this important initiative, visit WorkSafe Saskatchewan’s website.
