Wildfire alerts in Alberta: Stay informed and safe. Here’s everything you need to know!
Alberta Wildfires Safety evacuations

Hey there! If you're in Alberta, it’s crucial to stay updated about the wildfires currently affecting the province. As of July 22, there are 61 wildfires burning in the Forest Protection Area, with 16 of these classified as out of control. Yikes!

Firefighters are working around the clock—over 1,400 of them, including support from places like Newfoundland and even Australia! Resources like air tankers and helicopters are actively being deployed to handle these fires.

Some areas, like Slave Lake, are on evacuation alert, so if you’re on the east side of the lake, be ready to pack up in case you need to leave quickly. Make sure to follow local updates and download the Alberta Emergency Alert app, so you get notifications right away!

And while campfires are still allowed safely, make sure to follow fire advisories in your area. We all have a part to play in preventing wildfires—if you see smoke or flames, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE.

For the latest information on evacuation orders, fire bans, or air quality, check out the Alberta Wildfire Status Dashboard. Stay safe out there!
