Community Engagement Waste Reduction Sustainable Living

Hey there, Saskatchewan residents! 🎉 Did you know that from October 20 to 26, 2025, we’re celebrating Waste Reduction Week? This week is all about taking steps to reduce waste, conserve resources, and create a brighter, more sustainable future together!

During this week, we encourage you to engage in local activities that promote waste reduction. There are six exciting themes to explore:

  • Monday - Construction: Think about reusing building materials and salvage anything that’s still useful!
  • Tuesday - Textiles: Let’s rethink fast fashion! Donate clothes and embrace sustainable fabrics.
  • Wednesday - Electronics: Repair or upgrade your gadgets instead of tossing them!
  • Thursday - Plastics: Say goodbye to single-use plastics and hello to reusable containers!
  • Friday - Food: Plan meals wisely and consider composting food scraps!
  • Weekend - Share, reuse, and repair: Wrap up the week by sharing items and visiting repair cafés to keep things out of landfills.

Environment Minister Travis Keisig reminds us, “Every one of us can help reduce waste in our daily lives.” So, let's put our creativity into action!
