Did you know that nearly 59% of fire deaths happen in homes without working smoke alarms? That’s a startling statistic! It's simple—working smoke alarms save lives!
Wayne Rodger, the Fire Marshal at the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, encourages everyone to test their smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button. Just one simple beep can make the difference between safety and danger.
Remember, as of July 2022, it's a requirement for all residential buildings in Saskatchewan to have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. So let’s make sure ours are functioning!
