Alberta gender-based violence support survivors grant program

Great news for those affected by gender-based violence! Alberta's government has launched a new grant program aimed at supporting survivors and holding offenders accountable. This initiative, part of a broader 10-year strategy, aims to make sure that no one faces their journey to justice alone.

With $1.25 million in funding available through the Community Pathways to Justice grant, community organizations and Indigenous communities in Alberta can apply for financial support to enhance their services. Grants will range from $50,000 to $150,000, focusing on community-based support, education, and legal navigation for survivors.

“We are making this significant investment because gender-based violence has no place in society,” emphasizes an Alberta government representative. This funding will empower programs that help survivors recognize the signs of violence, know how to respond, and receive necessary support.

The application process opens on July 14 and closes on August 1. If you’re involved in a community organization or an Indigenous community, this could be a fantastic opportunity to enhance your support services. Interested applicants can attend virtual information sessions to learn more about eligibility and the application process.

Join Alberta in creating a safer future for everyone by ensuring that every survivor is seen, heard, and supported. Visit the Alberta government’s website for more details!
