Supporting Our Youth: A Commitment to Mental Health
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a time to reflect, remember, and take action. Here in Alberta, we are deeply committed to supporting our youth and ensuring they know they're not alone in their struggles.
Suicide is a serious and complex issue, but the truth is, it is preventable! Each statistic represents a meaningful life - someone who is a friend, a family member, or a neighbor. That’s why we are investing in mental health programs that empower Albertans to build resilience and strengthen their support systems.
For anyone feeling overwhelmed, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Services like Counselling Alberta can provide support for you or a loved one in need.
To our youth: you matter! There is help available, and there’s a community ready to support you. Through initiatives like the Youth Suicide Prevention Grant Program, we’re making strides to provide tailored support for young people across the province. From mental health classrooms to youth hubs, we’re here for you.
If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that help is just a call or text away. Reach out to 988 or 211 to get the support you need, 24/7.
