Simplifying Your Arrival: Introducing SIN@Entry in Canada
The Canadian government has some great news for newcomers! They’ve announced a new program called SIN@Entry, aimed at making your transition to life in Canada even smoother. This innovative service will officially launch in 2025-2026 and is designed to help you secure your Social Insurance Number (SIN) as part of your immigration application.
So, what’s the big deal about the SIN? It’s a nine-digit number that you need to work, pay taxes, or access government benefits in Canada. With SIN@Entry, you can request your SIN and view your SIN Confirmation Letter directly through your IRCC secure account, eliminating the need for a separate application.
This program is expected to cut in-person visits to Service Canada locations by up to 50%, which means less waiting time for you!
And if you're planning your arrival in Canada, don't worry! Another option, SIN@Landing, is already in place for newcomers at major airports, allowing you to obtain your SIN before you even step outside the airport.
Plus, with improvements to eSIN automation coming in September 2025, applying for your SIN online could take just minutes. Who doesn’t love quick and easy processes?
