Saskatchewan Expands Trade Horizons in Asia
Saskatchewan Expands Trade Horizons in Asia
Saskatchewan is on the move! 🚀 Our province is diversifying its export markets, especially in the vibrant Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. Under the leadership of Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding, a trade mission is set to explore opportunities in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Why is this important? Well, Saskatchewan boasts some of the finest products globally, thanks to our dedicated workforce. Minister Kaeding highlights the significance of connecting our businesses with international partners. More investment means more resources for the essential services Saskatchewan families rely on!
During the mission, one of the standout events will be the Canada-ASEAN Business Forum in Kuala Lumpur, where Kaeding will share insights on agriculture and food security. With Asia being a vital market, the province has opened five trade and investment offices here, helping to foster connections and navigate global market challenges.
In fact, in 2024, Saskatchewan's exports to Asia exceeded an impressive $10 billion! From the bustling markets of Indonesia to those in Malaysia and Thailand, our province is committed to crafting strong relationships to support our businesses and workforce.
This trade mission runs from September 20 to 28, 2025—stay tuned for exciting updates!
