Nominate Someone Special for the 2026 Saskatchewan Order of Merit!
Great news, Saskatchewan! Nominations are now open for the prestigious Saskatchewan Order of Merit (S.O.M.). This award is the province's highest honour, celebrating individuals who've made amazing contributions to our community.
Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre emphasizes the importance of recognizing these innovators and leaders who have positively impacted Saskatchewan. But here's the catch: to honor them, they first need a nomination!
Since its establishment in 1985, the Order of Merit has recognized excellence across various fields—be it agriculture, business, public service, the arts, and so much more.
If you know a current or former long-term resident of Saskatchewan who deserves this recognition, please consider submitting a nomination. Remember, it must be for a person, not an organization. And good news: you can even nominate someone posthumously, as long as it’s within a year of their passing.
The deadline for nominations is November 30, 2025, with online submissions encouraged. You can also submit nominations by mail or in person. Let’s bring attention to the outstanding individuals in our province!
