Great news for those interested in moving to Canada! Newfoundland and Labrador recently held an immigration draw on August 13, inviting candidates to apply under their Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

In total, 231 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued—180 through NLPNP and 51 through AIP. So far this year, the province has granted 1,675 ITAs via NLPNP and 374 through AIP.

It’s worth noting that the province faced a reduction in spots for economic immigrant programs, down to 1,050 for PNP from 2,100 last year. However, thanks to negotiations, the number of nomination spaces was increased to 2,050. Currently, there are 375 spaces left for PNP and 101 for AIP until the end of the year.

Newfoundland and Labrador is also using a new Expression of Interest (EOI) system, which is a two-step process. Candidates submit a form detailing their qualifications, and if they meet the requirements, they receive an ITA. This marks the seventh draw since the province's switch to this new system.

Interested in the AIP? It's designed for those who want to settle in one of Canada’s Atlantic provinces with a valid job offer from a designated employer. Eligible applicants can apply directly for permanent residency!
