New Hope in Calgary: Recovery Community Opens its Doors
Great news for those on the recovery journey! Calgary has officially opened its new recovery community, providing a safe space for individuals battling addiction. With 74 beds ready for use, this community can support up to 300 Albertans every year!
This initiative is part of Alberta’s Recovery Model, a government-backed system designed to help people regain control of their lives. The community offers various services, from individual therapy to employment training, aiming to connect people back with their families and communities.
In Alberta, recovery communities are expanding, with hopes to establish 11 by 2027, including partnerships with Indigenous communities. The newly opened facility is a pivotal step in ensuring that every Alberta resident has access to the support they need.
If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help available. The Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP) offers same-day access to specialists, ensuring no one has to wait for treatment. Together, we can foster hope and healing!
