If you’re looking to hire or apply for a job in Canada, there’s some important news you should know about!

Effective immediately, if you’re an employer hiring for jobs that require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), you’ll now have to use the "Direct Apply" feature on Canada’s National Job Bank. This change means that all applications received through this feature must be reviewed in order to meet the advertising requirements for a positive LMIA.

Previously, employers only needed to post their job openings for four weeks and use at least two other recruitment methods. Now, using Direct Apply is mandatory, so make sure to keep this in mind if you want your application to go through smoothly!

But it’s not just employers who are affected; job seekers benefit too! With Direct Apply, you can easily submit your application directly through the Job Bank without needing to visit various other websites or set up new accounts. This saves you time and makes the application process much simpler.

Remember, employers need to provide at least two additional application methods, like a link to their own website. This means it’s still important for job seekers to familiarize themselves with multiple platforms.

If you're aiming to hire through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), consider seeking help from an experienced immigration representative to make the process easier.

Stay informed and ensure your job application journey is as smooth as possible!
