New Border Crossing Hours Starting January 2025!
New Border Crossing Hours Starting January 2025!
Starting at 12:01 am local time on January 6, 2025, the service hours at 35 border ports between Canada and the U.S. will change. If you're someone who often drives across the border, this means you’ll have shorter hours to make your crossings!
These new hours could also impact new arrivals looking for flagpoling services. Flagpoling is when temporary residents exit the country and re-enter within 24 hours to receive immigration services.
So, what will the new hours look like? Here’s a quick breakdown by province:
- Alberta: Del Bonita 9 am - 5 pm (7 days a week)
- British Columbia: Cascade 8 am - 8 pm (7 days a week); Nelway 8 am - 6 pm (7 days a week)
- Manitoba: Multiple ports with hours ranging between 8 am - 6 pm
- Quebec: Hours vary; many are open 8 am - 8 pm
- New Brunswick: Bloomfield 9 am - 5 pm (Mon-Sat), and others varying hours
- Saskatchewan: Adjusting hours seasonally; mainly 9 am - 6 pm
Both countries aim to boost safety and manage traffic better with these new timings. If you frequently cross the border, plan ahead and check the new hours to ensure a smooth journey!
