Manitoba's New Invitation Round: Are You Eligible?
Manitoba's New Invitation Round: Are You Eligible?
This week, Manitoba made a significant move by inviting nearly 1,000 skilled worker candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). If you've been hoping to live and work in this beautiful province, this could be your chance!
The selection took place under two main pathways: the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway and the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway. Candidates were chosen based on their participation in targeted strategic recruitment initiatives.
On September 18, the MPNP welcomed a total of 911 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to skilled workers, with no set minimum cut-off score this time! Instead, the selection focused on candidates who could meet the pressing labor market needs of Manitoba.
Curious about the selection criteria? Let’s break it down. Candidates were invited based on their involvement in specific recruitment initiatives that sometimes included community-driven processes. Employers in Manitoba identify foreign nationals with the skills they need to fill labor shortages.
Out of the total 911 LAAs issued, a whopping 847 were linked to a temporary policy that allows individuals living and working in Manitoba to obtain open work permits. This initiative really boosts the pathway to permanent residency for international applicants.
For those wondering why they might not have received an invitation, it could be due to missing information in their Expression of Interest (EOI), such as necessary language test details.
If you’re interested in applying through the MPNP, don't hesitate to assess your eligibility for the enhanced PNP streams. Who knows? Your dream job in Manitoba might just be around the corner!
