Jasper's Journey: Recovery After the Wildfire
Jasper's Journey: Recovery After the Wildfire
Last year, the charming town of Jasper faced a life-changing wildfire that forced hundreds to leave their homes. A peaceful summer transformed into a chapter filled with fear and uncertainty for many families. Even today, some residents are still hoping to return to their beloved community.
Despite tragic losses, many homes and businesses were saved, thanks to the bravery of our first responders—including firefighters, police, and paramedics—who risked so much to protect us. We owe them a heartfelt thank you!
As Jasper continues its road to recovery, the government is stepping up with a commitment of over $181 million to help rebuild. This includes $149 million for disaster recovery, $12.9 million for the Canadian Red Cross, and support for businesses and residents alike.
Remember, while the journey is still ongoing, together we can make Jasper stronger. Let's continue to show our support and pride for this resilient community!
