This past week marked a turning point in the harvest with some much-needed rainfall across the province! While the rain did pause harvesting temporarily, it's great news for producers in drier areas as it enhances soil moisture for the crops. As of now, we’re at 53% completion for harvest, which is a nice jump from last week!

The southwest region leads the way, having harvested 66% of its crops, while the southeast is not far behind at 58%. Western areas are catching up, with wheat and rye harvests already wrapped up. It’s also exciting to see that peas and lentils are nearing completion with impressive rates of 96% and 91% respectively!

There were some areas that really soaked up the rain, like Kipling with 100mm, and let’s not forget the importance of moisture for boosting yields! However, with harvest wrapping up, producers are hoping for even more rain to keep fields healthy and productive.
