Welcoming Students: Grand Opening of tawâw School in Regina!
Today is a special day for the North Regina community as we celebrate the grand opening of tawâw school! This new school represents a bright future for our children, combining the spirit of two former schools into a modern facility designed for growth and learning.
Education Minister Everett Hindley and SaskBuilds Minister David Marit were present to commemorate this milestone. At tawâw, which means "come in, you're welcome; there's room" in Cree, students will find a welcoming space to thrive. The school includes updated classrooms, a child care center, and a community space catering to families.
"This is more than just a school; it’s a hub for community and support for both education and child care," said Hindley. With a whopping investment of $63.3 million from the Saskatchewan government, this building is set to accommodate 1,000 students in the future.
As we look forward to the immense opportunities that tawâw offers, we honor the commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for every child. Here’s to new beginnings and bright futures!
