October is here, and that means it's Foster Families Month in Saskatchewan! This special month gives us a chance to celebrate the incredible foster families who open their hearts and homes to children in need.

As Social Services Minister Terry Jenson said, foster families demonstrate unwavering love and commitment. They don't just provide shelter; they offer children a brighter future filled with hope and stability.

Foster Families Month is also a great opportunity to highlight the amazing work of the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA). This organization supports foster parents by providing resources and guidance, helping them create nurturing environments for children. Whether it's transitioning through school, attending medical appointments, or reconnecting with biological families, SFFA is there every step of the way.

Executive Director Deb Davies emphasizes the crucial role foster families play in children’s lives, bringing love and stability not just to the kids, but also to the entire community. Their tireless efforts help shape a better environment for our youth, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.

If you're inspired by the idea of becoming a foster parent or want to learn more, reach out to the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association at 1-800-667-7002 or visit www.saskfosterfamilies.ca.
