Great News for Family Reunification in Canada!
Great News for Family Reunification in Canada!
The Canadian government has just announced an important change for those looking to reunite with family! In 2025, they will accept up to 25,000 applications under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP)! This is fantastic news for families eager to bring their loved ones closer.
Initially, there was some uncertainty back in January when the government revealed they would only process 15,000 applications from 2024. But now, they are backtracking and providing more opportunities! This decision came after much discussion, and it's a relief for many hopeful sponsors.
If you submitted interest to sponsor forms during the 2020 intake, keep your fingers crossed! You might just receive an invitation to apply when the PGP officially opens this year.
The PGP is a wonderful way for Canadian citizens and permanent residents to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada. However, keep in mind that due to high demand, the selection process happens through a lottery system.
And if you're looking for a different option, there's also the Super Visa program! This program allows parents and grandparents to visit Canada for up to 5 years with the right sponsorship. It’s great for long visits without committing to permanent residency.
Don’t miss out on these opportunities to unite with your family in Canada!
