Hello, future immigrants! If you're considering moving to Canada, you might want to tune in to the latest updates from the Express Entry system. Between August 5 and August 17, we saw a drop in candidates by 2,472. Most of this decrease happened in scores ranging from 481 to 600, which lost 2,342 profiles.
August also brought some exciting news as it achieved the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 2025 for French-language proficiency draws and a notable score for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.
So, what did August look like for Express Entry draws? In total, there were 6,417 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued across five draws. Let’s break it down:
- August 6: 225 ITAs in PNP with a CRS cut-off of 739
- August 7: 1,000 ITAs in Canadian Experience Class with a cut-off of 534
- August 8: 2,500 ITAs for French proficiency with a cut-off of 481
- August 18: 192 ITAs in PNP with a cut-off of 800
- August 19: 2,500 ITAs for healthcare and social services with a cut-off of 470
Comparing this month to July, we see a drop of 1,141 ITAs, making it one of the lowest months in terms of ITA issuance this year. Overall, from January to August 2025, there have been 55,820 ITAs issued—quite a difference from the same period in 2024.
Wondering how competitive your profile is? The pool’s score distribution shows that while some areas lost candidates, others have seen slight gains. For instance, the 401-410 score range actually gained 67 candidates!
