Empowering Saskatchewan Youth: Meet the 2025-26 Youth Council
This year marks an exciting chapter for Saskatchewan's youth as the Ministry of Education unveils the 2025-26 Youth Council! Comprising 12 talented high school students from various school divisions, these young leaders are stepping up to share their ideas and insights to enhance education across the province.
Education Minister Everett Hindley is thrilled to welcome this fantastic group, stating, “Their perspectives are essential in helping shape a more responsive and positive education system for all Saskatchewan students.”
The council members, ranging from Grades 10 to 12, are set to engage in important conversations with the Ministry regarding policies, curriculum, and programs. With their valuable contributions, they will ensure that the education system reflects the voices of students everywhere!
Recently, the youth council members gathered in Saskatoon for an orientation, where they learned about their roles and responsibilities. Faizal Oganla, one of the members, expressed his excitement: “Knowing that our perspectives can influence real change makes this experience incredibly meaningful.”
Established in 2019, the Youth Council offers a platform for student leaders aged 16 and older to share their experiences and insights. Get ready to hear more from these inspiring young voices making a difference!
