Community Safety Takes a Stand in Calgary
Community Safety Takes a Stand in Calgary
In an important move to restore peace in Calgary, authorities have closed a property linked to drug activity. The Alberta Sheriffs’ SCAN unit obtained a court order to shut down the location at 4520 19 Avenue NW for 88 days, effective August 25. During this closure, nobody— including the property owner— is allowed on the premises.
This decision is part of a broader strategy to address drug-fueled chaos in communities. The goal? To send a clear message to drug dealers: your actions will not be tolerated here!
Residents have voiced concerns for months, and now, thanks to a collaboration between the SCAN unit and the Calgary Police Service, they're finally seeing some positive changes. The property will be secured with boards, fences, and new locks, and it will be under continuous observation during the closure.
Why does this matter? Community safety is a top priority, and together, law enforcement and vigilant citizens are making strides in the fight against crime. If you notice anything suspicious, keep reporting it. Your input can make all the difference in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
