Every September, Alberta shines a spotlight on its vibrant arts community during the Month of the Artist! This month-long celebration honors the amazing contributions of local artists—from painters and poets to dancers and filmmakers—who bring our communities together and share the stories that make Alberta home.

The arts not only inspire us but also play a significant role in Alberta's economy. Did you know that they contribute over $1.3 billion to our provincial GDP and create more than 18,000 jobs each year? That's why our commitment to supporting artists is so crucial!

This year, Alberta is excited to announce an increase of $4.5 million in funding for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. This investment is part of a three-year plan that will result in a whopping $43 million going into artistic initiatives by 2027-28. This funding will help support over 400 organizations and hundreds of individual artists across the province!
