Hey there, friends! If you’re part of the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program, today is a big day. March 31, 2024, marks crucial deadlines you won’t want to overlook!

Firstly, today is the final day for eligible visa holders to enter Canada under the special CUAET measures. Did you know that although over 960,000 Ukrainians have been approved for this program, as of the end of February, only around 248,726 have made it to Canada? Time is ticking!

However, if you arrive after today, you’ll need to meet Canada’s usual entry requirements and won’t be able to benefit from the supports offered through CUAET.

Secondly, if you're already in Canada, today is the last chance to apply for an extension or change to your temporary resident status under the CUAET program. And guess what? The waiver for application fees also ends today!

But that’s not all! For those currently in Canada, today also marks the deadline to apply for an open work permit, study permit, or extend your stay for up to three years under the post-CUAET measures. Make sure you don’t miss out on these opportunities!

Remember, the CUAET program was created to give Ukrainians and their families a safe haven in Canada until it’s safe to return home. And while the application deadline for this program passed on July 15, 2023, you still have options with the recent pathways for permanent residency established for Ukrainians with Canadian family ties.
