In 2025, a total of 437,000 study permits are expected to be issued, which is a slight decrease from the previous year. This is divided among different student categories. Here’s a quick breakdown:

• Graduate degree students: 73,282 permits
• K-12 applicants (exempt from PAL): 72,200 permits
• Other exempt applicants: 48,524 permits
• Remaining students requiring PAL: 242,994 permits

To streamline the process, IRCC has introduced a new requirement for Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs), helping you navigate the application process more efficiently.

Each province will receive a specific number of permits, so it’s essential to stay informed about your chosen province’s allocations. For example, Ontario is set to welcome a whopping 116,740 students, while British Columbia will have 53,589 slots available!
