This September, MLA Tany Yao from Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo is making waves in Wyoming! He’ll be part of the 78th CSG West annual meeting, engaging with lawmakers and industry leaders from 13 different U.S. states.

What’s the buzz all about? It’s all about strengthening U.S.-Canada relations, especially in trade, energy, and economic growth. Alberta has a key role here, as it’s the second-largest exporter to the U.S., right after Ontario!

During this meeting, MLA Yao will co-chair discussions focused on tariffs and trade impacts, which are crucial for our manufacturing and goods exchange. Did you know that Alberta’s exports to the U.S. surpassed an incredible CAD $162 billion in 2024? That’s a staggering 88.7% of our total provincial exports!

From energy to live animals and meat, Alberta's diverse exports hold great importance in this partnership. This meeting isn’t just about numbers; it’s about opportunities for Alberta and the U.S. to collaborate effectively!

MLA Yao is excited to connect and discover solutions that will help our businesses thrive. It’s all about building valuable relationships and protecting those connections that benefit us all.
