Alberta and Saskatchewan Unite for Energy Development
In a recent gathering in Lloydminster, the governments of Alberta and Saskatchewan came together with a powerful message: it’s time for a national change in how we manage our resources.
They’re asking the federal government to step back and let provinces lead the way in developing their natural resources. This means revamping laws that are seen as hurdles to progress, such as the Impact Assessment Act and regulations on oil and gas emissions.
Access to vital coastal pipelines and ports is critical for exporting oil, gas, and agricultural products. Making these improvements will benefit all Canadians, including First Nations partners.
Additionally, the provinces are facing challenges from international tariffs, particularly from China and the U.S. Alberta and Saskatchewan are urging the federal government to prioritize lifting these tariffs so that local businesses can thrive.
The call to action is clear: Alberta and Saskatchewan want a federal government that collaborates with them to unlock their full economic potential. Together, they are advocating for a future where resources can flow freely, benefiting everyone in Canada!
