Are you ready for an adrenaline rush? From July 28 to August 3, Calgary’s Predator Bay will transform into an exciting arena for the U21 Waterski World Championships. Imagine over 110 elite waterskiers from around the globe competing for international glory!

This notable event showcases not only the thrilling sport of waterskiing but also puts Alberta on the map as a premier spot for athletes and fans alike. The Alberta government has generously provided $100,000 in funding to help make this event a reality through its Major Sport Event grant program.

Expect a fantastic turnout, with over 40,000 spectators set to enjoy both in-person and online, generating a massive boost of about $1.3 million for Calgary’s local economy.

The spirit of competition brings together athletes, coaches, families, and supporters from more than 20 countries, including the United States, Italy, Morocco, and Japan. You’ll see impressive talent from local Canadians too, including three competitors right from Alberta!

Three thrilling disciplines will steal the spotlight: slalom, where skiers navigate a buoy-filled course at breakneck speeds; trick, involving acrobatic performances; and jump, where skiers soar off ramps to achieve maximum distance.
