Great news for travelers and businesses in Saskatchewan! The much-anticipated Highway 5 upgrade, which connects Humboldt to Saskatoon, has reached a significant milestone. With over $147 million invested, the final phase of construction is officially underway!

Highways Minister David Marit recently announced that the bulk of the work in the St. Denis area has been completed, improving safety and efficiency for everyone on the road. This infrastructure project not only promotes safer transportation for families but also makes it easier for businesses to move their goods.

The recent work included widening the shoulders and adding passing lanes, making for smoother travel. Plus, two critical roads were realigned to enhance access to Highway 5.

As we look ahead, twinning work is set to start on a 10 km stretch east of Saskatoon, with major improvements expected to be finished by the end of 2027. These upgrades are crucial for our province's export economy and essential for keeping our communities thriving!
