Hey everyone! If you're in Alberta or nearby, we wanted to give you an important update about the wildfires currently affecting the region. As of today, there are 50 wildfires burning across Alberta, with 14 of them classified as out of control. That’s quite serious!

Fortunately, over 1,500 brave firefighters are currently on the ground, fighting these fires. They’re using everything from helicopters to heavy equipment to keep you safe. If you’re looking for real-time updates, check out the Alberta Wildfire Status Dashboard.

Some communities are under evacuation orders, so if you live in or around Peerless Lake or Trout Lake, be sure to stay informed about your safety. The Alberta Emergency Alert app is a great tool to have!

Also, there’s currently a fire advisory across the Grande Prairie and Lac La Biche areas. While campfires are still allowed, keep in mind that fire permits will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis due to recent strong winds. Always confirm the current fire restrictions in your area.

For air quality updates due to wildfire smoke, please visit the Wildfire Smoke Information page. Remember: smoke doesn’t always indicate that a fire is near you.

Stay safe and follow any local alerts! Everyone plays a vital role in wildfire prevention. If you see smoke, please report it by calling 310-FIRE.
