Read moreIf you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, did you know you can bring your parent(s) or grandparent(s) to Canada with the Super Visa? This fantastic program allows them to visit for extended periods, making it a wonderful way to spend time with family!
Unlike the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP), which works on a lottery system, the Super Visa is open to anyone year-round. This means you have the chance to apply at any time, making it a practical alternative!
With the Super Visa, your loved ones can enjoy visitor status in Canada for up to ten years, staying a maximum of five years at a time. How cool is that?
To get started, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements, such as being at least 18, having enough income to support them, and purchasing health insurance. Also, your parent(s) or grandparent(s) will need to apply from outside Canada.
Gather the necessary documents like a letter of invitation, proof of your income, and of course, their medical insurance. Just remember, this application can seem a bit daunting, but you’re not alone! There are resources available to help you every step of the way.
