Harvest Update: What You Need to Know!

Hey there, fellow farmers and agricultural enthusiasts! 🌾 It's time for our weekly harvest update. Even though overall progress is steady, the rain and high humidity have been giving some regions a bit of a hard time.

The total provincial harvest progress is at 68%, which trails behind our five-year average of 83%. The southwest is leading the charge with an impressive 80% completed harvest!

This week, we’ve wrapped up winter wheat and fall rye, with field peas almost done at 99%. More excitingly, many farmers have started combining canola, with 42% already in the bag! 🌻

Let’s touch on the weather: we saw minimal rain across the province overall, with some areas like Rhein receiving up to 44 mm. Unfortunately, the much-needed topsoil moisture is below adequate levels in many regions. Don’t forget to monitor your pastures, as conditions are decreasing slightly!
