Celebrating Alberta's Ukrainian Heritage

Today, we celebrate the vibrant culture and deep-rooted history of Alberta’s Ukrainian community! For over 130 years, Ukrainian-Albertans have enriched our province's social, economic, and cultural landscape.

From the early pioneers who tilled the land to the modern leaders in business and the arts, their legacy is crafted from resilience, unity, and a strong cultural identity. These values inspire all Albertans, reminding us of the strength found in diversity.

However, we also remember the ongoing struggles faced by millions of Ukrainians due to the invasion by Russia. Our hearts go out to those defending their homeland, those seeking refuge, and all Albertans with ties to affected families.

In these times, Alberta stands firm in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Canadian community, whose courage and compassion shine as a beacon of hope. Together, we honor this heritage and the ongoing journey towards peace.
